News International

Rupert Murdoch's publishing house, News International, has commissioned Terry Farrell and Partners to design a masterplan for a site in the heart of Wapping, east London.

Plans for the plot - a car park close to St Katherine's Dock - include proposals for a 13storey wedge-shaped building, a 29-storey tower and a public square. The smaller building will house a public health club and swimming pool, as well as offering 46,000m 2 of commercial space. The tower will be clad in glass and aluminium panels and will provide nearly 70,000m 2 of floor space, including retail units in its four-storey podium.
