Jonathan Glancey's memoir of explorer Sir Wilfred Thesiger, in The Guardian, ends: 'By chance, the day we met we were wearing. . . identical tweed jackets.This may be a trivial detail, but I like to think that the spirit of this most quixotic, puzzling yet clear-eyed officer, gentleman and explorer will continue to be handed down from questing generation to questing generation.'
