Name game

With Lords Foster and Rogers probably the only two architects whose names are known by most of the country, it seems sad that they are still so easily confused.Writing in the Guardian last Thursday, political columnist Simon Hoggart stumbled. 'It was the first postmodern prime minister's answer, ' he wrote about something parliamentary, 'the equivalent of those Norman Foster buildings with the support structure and pipes on the outside.' Oh dear.

The Independent's magazine, The Information, did no better a week earlier, attributing Michael Hopkins'Westminster Underground station to Norman. You can't get the staff these days.
