Mourning glory

astragal

The eclectic crowd who joined Eleanor Bron and David Price for Cedric Price's funeral at Kensal Green crematorium last Monday was testament to Price's long-held delight in varied company. (He was particularly suspicious of architects who only socialise with other architects and famously dismissed most as 'intellectually thick'). Price did, however, have many close friends within the profession.Mourners included all the living members of Archigram (David Green, Dennis Compton and Peter Cook), Colin Fournier, Lady Stirling, Mary Banham, Jeremy Melvin, Mohsen Mostafavi, Simon Allford, Peter Murray, Brian Henderson, Sutherland Lyall and Paul Finch.

Former employees of the Cedric Price office included Paul Hyett, John Lyall and Will Alsop.
