Last week's AJ100 Breakfast Club was more than just an entertaining morning; it was an extravaganza. With a speech from Culture Secretary Tessa Jowell, the collected grandes fromages of architecture seemed suitably impressed.

The highlight, for Astragal, was Jowell's decision to lavish praise upon the AJ redesign. 'I think it's worth taking a moment to recognise the incredibly valuable role of the AJ in feeding, as well as reporting, debates for over 100 years, ' she said. 'I'd like to congratulate Isabel Allen and her team on the fantastic redesign of the AJ.

If any profession should have a well-designed house journal it's yours. The redesign reflects the energy of British architecture today.' Thanks Tessa. There's not a lot we can add to that.
