Zaha Hadid at Milan
Zaha Hadid has created a pavilion for the Milan International Furniture Fair
Hadid worked with Citco, a manufacturer of inlaid marble surfaces, to create a pavilion for The Secret Garden, a display at the Botanical Gardens in the Brera district of Milan.
The pavilion is made up of two inlaid marble slabs supported on a base and covered by a canopy. The design of the marble is said to be derived from the geometric patterns that appear in rocks when energy and pressure are applied.
When I visited the pavilion yesterday, the structure was still being white-washed by the installation team, but is open for public viewing all week.
The pavilion can be seen at The Botanical Gardens, 4 Via Dei Fiori Oscuri, Milan
