A project by Dean & Dyball Construction to build a residential training college for RNLI lifeboat crew at Poole harbour required a fasttrack, lightweight construction method. A mix of hot-rolled steel and Metsec Building Products' panelised and site-fix light gauge steel framing systems was used for the superstructure of the five-storey, 60-bed building. Metsec's site-fix SFS system was installed between a hot-rolled steel frame to form the external walling of a twostorey podium providing kitchen and restaurant facilities.
