Make reaches out for tower revamp

Make is hoping to be given the go-ahead to remodel and extend an existing 30-storey skyscraper on London's South Bank. Overlooking the world-famous Oxo Tower, the centrepiece of the £250 million King's Reach development will be the refurbishment of a 1972 office block which will be colourfully reclad and increased in height by four storeys. Further proposals include building a series of 'mini towers' around the base of the tower to replace a number of low-rise commercial blocks. The 37,000m 2 scheme will also create a new public space between the river and both Stamford Street and Blackfriars Road to the south.
