World’s first LEGO greenhouse installed in Covent Garden

The world’s first greenhouse built entirely from LEGO bricks has opened in Covent Garden as part of London Design Festival 2011

The greenhouse, which contains real plants and vegetables, was designed by Sebastian Bergne, commissioned by LEGO UK and installed by Duncan Titmarsh, the UK’s only LEGO Certified Professional.

The installation ‘takes inspiration from Covent Garden’s history as a fruit and vegetable market’. Interior lighting makes the greenhouse glow at night and allows visitors to see the plants inside.

The LEGO Greenhouse is on display until 25 September, at the North East Piazza, Covent Garden, WC2. Free admission.
