This Way Up: Exhibition and sale to support new design fellowship

The British Council has teamed up with curator and producer Unity to create an exhibition and sale entitled This Way Up: 15 Years of Architecture, Design and Fashion at the British Council.

The exhibition includes works commissioned by the British Council over the last 15 years, by designers such as Tom Dixon, Peter Kennard, Pearson Lloyd, Sebastian Berge, Nigel Shafran, Michael Marriott and Anthony Burrill. Four unique dresses by Basso & Brooke, inspired by their exchange trip to Uzbekistan, will also be on display.

Architectural photographs, products, prints and new pieces produced by Goldsmiths University as part of an up-cycling project will be sold throughout the week by silent auction.

All funds raised by the sale will go towards a new British Council fellowship that will allow emerging UK designers to work in Brazil.

This Way Up will take place at Pitfield Space, 31-35 Pitfield Street, London N1 6HB from 17-25 September 2011. Opening times Mon-Fri: 12pm-7pm, Saturdays: 10am-7pm, Sundays: 10am-5pm.

The launch party will take place on 20 September 2011, from 6.30pm-10.30pm. If you would like to attend, please contact Megan John at megan@hellounity.com
