Slovenia’s 'Silent Revolution' comes to London

An exhibition of Slovenian contemporary design products is taking place at Tent London from 22-25 September 2011 as part of London Design Festival

The exhibition, entitled ‘Silent Revolutions’, includes products from the last two decades, covering the period of Slovenia’s modern history as a democratic republic.

Highlights of the exhibition range from innovative lighting products, such as Nika Zupanc’s Black Cherry Lamps, made of blown glass bulbs suspended on metal tubing; to the Greenline 33, a Hybrid powerboat fitted with solar panels that recharge the boat’s batteries and allow it to sail noiselessly without producing carbon emissions.

Slovenia’s prime minister, Borut Pahor, will formally open the exhibition on Friday 23 September.

‘Silent Revolutions’ runs from 22-25 September 2011 at Tent London, Dray Walk Gallery, Old Truman Brewery, Brick Lane, London E1 6QL. Open 10am-8pm Thurs-Sat, 11am-6pm Sun
