Lawn Tennis Association's National Tennis Centre by Hopkins Architects

Roehampton, London

The National Tennis Centre provides a world-class facility for young players and coaches and the administrative headquarters for the Lawn Tennis Association.

Sited on metropolitan open land, the centre comprises indoor and outdoor tennis courts, with grass clay and acrylic surfaces. Training facilities include a gymnasium, hydrotherapy pool, sports-medicine and science facilities, player and coach accommodation, a care, teaching spaces and offices.

The design preserves woodlands and uses forms and materials to complement the surroundings.
