Lack of imagination

I wonder if the management consultants called in to appraise the Millennium Dome project will be talking to Gary Withers' Imagination group. Before parting company with the government, Gary worked with a rather limited budget for the Dome's interior attractions: he costed the 'wow' factor at something over £100 million, but was told this was too much, not least because of the problems associated with bringing in corporate sponsorship (which is still clouded in doubt). This meant he had to work with a budget per square metre of about seven per cent of that expended on the Trocadero entertainment centre at Piccadilly Circus! Meanwhile Imagination's Dome project architect Alex Ritchie, and the rest of his team, have moved on to newer, greener pastures - a mammoth commission for the Guinness brewery in Dublin.
