King Zog!

Man-of-the-moment Roger Zogolovitch was not present to receive the 'London Building of the Year' award for his housing development in south London, presented by the RIBA's London region last week. Instead, he was busy giving the Lignacite annual lecture, with AHMM's Simon Allford, on the inability of the planning system to deliver housing. News reached him of the victory at the post-lecture supper in architect-hangout St John's, and prompted a recollection in respect of Lambeth planning department.

When Zog's Alex de Rijkedesigned scheme in Centaur Street won its RIBA Award, he wrote to the planners thanking them for their help in bringing it about. The council replied: 'We are unaware of this building.

Could you please supply the planning reference number?'
