Island in the sun for Alsop and co
Alsop Architects has agreed to join a collaborative team shortlisted to design a new island complex off the port of Aqaba in Jordan. The team - made up of RTKL, Lovejoy and Buro Happold - is up against HOK International and Florida-based EDSA in the competition's final round. The project, for the Ayla Oasis Development Company, will involve the construction of a series of man-made residential islands surrounding a commercial and retail development on a larger island of its own.
