The big icon debate has reached a new nadir thanks to a proposal by Issam Kourbaj, artist in residence at Christ's College, University of Cambridge. Kourbaj has proposed the recreation of a 16th-century spire that was originally planned for Great St Mary's Church.

This will follow the old design in housing a camera obscura, giving visitors panoramic views of the city. And the name of the initiative? Kourbaj has dubbed it the 'EyeCone project'.
