Hyett and mighty

RIBA president Paul Hyett was amazed (he says) to find that he has been included in 2002's 'selection of Britain's top people', alongside such eminences as Tony Blair, Ken Livingstone, Cormac Murphy O'Connor and sandwiched between Michael Howard and Lord Irvine. He is waiting to hear if it was the office of the president, or more particularly himself, who prompted the inclusion, in the Economist's list.

'Behind every successful man is an astonished mother-in-law', he tells me.
