HKR Architects has submitted this commercial office development, just south of Manchester's city centre, for detailed planning approval. The £15 million scheme is backed by developer Land Alliance, and will provide 6,700m 2 of offi ce space over 17 storeys. According to the practice, the internal space will be divided over narrow floor plates, providing 360infinity views over the city. The building facade will incorporate a dramatic light installation via an LED array, making it the largest moving-image screen in the world. The top floor will feature a column-free executive suite which will include an external space, while the plant room above will be glass-clad and illuminated with a glowing 'top hat' that will cantilever out from the suite below. The scheme will sit in close proximity to Ian Simpson Architects' Beetham Tower and, when completed, will become the tallest singleescape-stair office block in the UK.
