Help for accessibility HEATED HYDRAULICS

PRACTICE

Stannah is installing hydraulic lifts at several stations to improve access. These typically transfer people from the semi-controlled temperatures of booking halls to the variable temperature conditions of the platforms. This temperature variation causes the viscosity of the hydraulic fluid to change, making it difficult to provide accurate and consistent floor and car levelling. Stannah is solving the problem by applying trace electric heating strips to the lift pipes and cylinders, so keeping the hydraulic fluid at constant viscosity.
