Heat of the moment

Focus Briefing

Heating company Jaga has launched a seemingly impossible item - a wooden radiator (above). The secret is that this is in fact not a radiator at all but a convector heater, a more effective and economic way of heating rooms. Since the heater simply needs to pull in cool air at the bottom and allow hot air to escape at the top, it does not matter that it is made from a non-conductive material. Hence the genesis of the Knockonwood range of curved veneer casings available in maple, beech or oak. Aimed primarily at the top end of the domestic market, Knockonwood may also find a home in hotels and offices.
