Glenn Howells Architects

Glenn Howells Architects has won planning permission for this 1,800m 2visitor centre in Windsor Great Park's Savill Garden.

The £5 million structure aims to form a 'gateway to the listed gardens reflecting the character and quality of the park'. The single-storey building will unite all the garden's visitor facilities under one gridshell roof, with a series of linked spaces underneath. It will house a restaurant, shop, reception, lecture facilities and public terraces. The gridshell is supported by an earth structure on the side of the building's entrance, which will also house all ancillary facilities.
