GLAZING

PRODUCTS IN PRACTICE - REFURBISHMENT

Pilkington

BUILDING Calne Heritage Centre

ARCHITECT Malcolm Carver

PRODUCT USED Pilkington Activ Blue glass

CHARACTERISTICS Self-cleaning glass with a blue tint allows as much daylight in as possible while filtering out light that could fade the museum's exhibits

DIMENSIONS Fifty glass panels were used, each sized 2,990 x 800mm

SPECIAL PROPERTIES Designed for conservatories and large commercial applications, the glass' blue tint offers excellent solar control properties combined with good light transmission. The specially formulated coating breaks down organic dirt particles when exposed to daylight. These particles are then washed away by rainwater
