GETTING IN A SPIN ABOUT INEFFECTIVE WIND TURBINES

We were very interested to read your article on the Palestra building's wind turbines ( ajplus 29.01.07). Situated in sight of the Palestra building we at Penson Group have been watching the turbines since their installation.

The fact is that even with the recent gales and strong winds, many of the turbines simply spin around their vertical axis, meaning that the turbines all face in opposite directions randomly.

They seem to spin out of control. While this is happening, the actual blades of the turbines hardly move and it is absolutely obvious that they have not generated that much electricity at all since installation? We cannot strap these fans to buildings across London!
