Gareth Hoskins Architects

Gareth Hoskins Architects has won approval for this £6 million Hospice for Terminally Ill Children overlooking Scotland's Loch Lomond. The 2,600m 2project -for charity the Hospice Association - includes facilities for nine children, their families and 45 members of staff. The design aims to work the building into the contours of the hill, to reduce the effects of the wind and the gradient, and to ensure easy access for visitors. The scheme was initially recommended for refusal by Loch Lomond National Park. But, following public outcry, the park's planning committee voted in favour of the project at the end of last year. It is due on site next month.
