John McAslan's refurbishment of Camden Town's Roundhouse won unlimited praise from the audience at the Stirling Prize on Saturday night, with older members of the crowd growing misty eyed about their misspent youth in a venue which, among other things, saw the only UK appearance by The Doors. But celebrity judge and compère Mariella Frostrup said that not only was she too young for such shenanigans, she had never really cared about pop stars as a youngster anyway.

Instead she had really fancied architecture students. Cue wistful sighs.
