Finch to succeed Davey as new AR boss

Paul Finch, the group editorial director of the architecture group at Emap Construct, is to join the AJ's sister paper, The Architectural Review, as its next editor.

Finch will succeed Peter Davey to become only the eighth editor in the magazine's 108-year history following Davey's retirement in February 2005.

Finch - who is also currently the acting chairman of CABE - has been in the architectural and property press since 1972, a career that included the editorship of the AJ from 1994 to 1999.

'The AR is already the world's most respected architecture magazine thanks to Peter Davey's leadership, ' said group publishing director Jonathan Stock.

'I look forward to working with Paul to build on that legacy to make it not only the most respected but also the most widely read architecture magazine in the world, ' he added.
