Fancy Fridges

Ever since the invention of the ice box the cry has come down the ages, 'You've left the effing door open again.'

In an effort to cleanse everyday domestic verbal intercourse somebody has devised a programmable modular refrigerator. Each stackable section has its own door and temperature control and can have a lock. Great for student shared kitchens.

OK, you will be pointing out that the new drawer-fridges from people like Hotpoint (no relation) do much the same thing – and without the 70's styling. But the fridge was amongst this year's finalists in the Electrolux Designlab competition judged on the 9th of this month in Zurich. Earlier winners include a waterless clothes washer.
