Zaha Hadid and Amanda Levete are among the designers who have created the launch collection for new British furniture design company Established & Sons.
Hadid's amorphous Aqua (above) is a dining/conference table comprised of bulging silicon forms, its fluidity highlighted by subtle changes in colour. Levete's Chester sofa (top) uses traditional upholstery techniques, such as horsehair and buttoned leather, combined with a modern interpretation of the Chesterfi eld sofa. Barber Osgerby, Sebastian Wrong and Alexander Taylor have also contributed designs to the company.
Established & Sons was set up by a group of designers, artists and consultants to promote British manufacturing. It has formed partnerships with a network of factories and technicians to support the work of both world-renowned and emerging designers. If you missed the launch at this month's Milan furniture fair, the products can be seen at showrooms from September. See www. establishedand sons. com for more information.
