Blowing my own Trumpet: The Essence of Engineering

Albert Williamson-Taylor nominates a building his own practice worked on

UK pavilion, Shanghai Expo 2010

While it was at once a folly, the British pavilion at the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai is, in my view, the Essence of Engineering. It was an incredible fusion of art, architecture, landscape and light, assembled through a pure process of engineering. A product of collaboration, ingenuity and inquiry, this building pushed the boundaries on the design side.
