The big party of last week was the Nightingale Associates annual bash in London. A sedate affair, the number of contractors and quantity surveyors way outnumbered the architects. What designers were there were almost exclusively from Nightingale itself. And judging by the number of tie-knots being 'ddled with uncomfortably, there was clearly some kind of three-line whip demanding that they smarten themselves up. As parties go, this one was very, ahem, grown up.
