Located inside a mountain near Llanberis, North Wales, the Dinorwic pumped storage hydro-electric power station is the largest of its kind in Europe. When commissioned in 1984, this project featured architectural ironmongery from Allgood.

Described as like an 18-storey office block within a mountain, the project has a wide range of environmental conditions.

The architect specified Modric as most appropriate, and also paid close attention to the locking.Allgood had to supply specially modified products.

'The Dinorwic hydropower station has a good maintenance regime to keep the robust ironmongery in tip-top condition and functioning perfectly, ' said Keith Snook, 'not withstanding very heavy industrial use and abuse.'
