CONRAN SKYSCRAPER REJECTED

Sheffield's planners have turned down Conran and Partners' proposed 33-storey city centre skyscraper.

The 322-apartment tower on Arundel Gate was to become the tallest building in South Yorkshire but the city's planning committee rejected the scheme because it was too high and 'of insufficient quality and distinction'.
