LOWTHER CASTLE, PENRITH Expressions of interest are invited from architectural practices to join a team of professional consultants to carry forward the conclusions of a conservation plan for Lowther Castle and Gardens, to enable these features to be open to the public and function as a visitor attraction. Deadline for receipt of practice profiles is 8 July.


PLAISTOW, EAST LONDON Design submissions are invited for the refurbishment of low-rise housing in the Brooks Estates, Plaistow, east London, as well as two high-rise housing tower blocks. The deadline for design submissions for both competitions is 19 August.

NEW REGIONAL CENTRE FOR THE VISUAL ARTS, BURY ST EDMUNDS Expressions of interest are invited for a competition to develop a regional centre for fine arts, crafts and design at the Corn Exchange in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. Selection of the architect will be by competitive interview.

Deadline for expressions of interest is 13 June.

LANDMARK GALLERY, WAKEFIELD WATERFRONT Expressions of interest are invited for this new competition to design a prestigious and distinctive 'landmark' gallery on the waterfront in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. Deadline for receipt of practice profiles is 17 June.

STUDENT DESIGN COMPETITION Wood. for good. invites submissions for an open ideas competition, based on an imaginary inner city site. The competition is open to students of architecture and those in relevant associated disciplines.

The submission deadline has been extended to September.
