SHRINKING CITIES An international competition from the German Federal Cultural Foundation to address the problems associated with population and job losses. It will look at four urban regions, one of which (Liverpool/Manchester) is in the UK. Entries may range from social critiques to physical interventions. Students are excluded. LANDMARK EAST COMPETITION Open ideas competition on behalf of the East of England Development Agency to generate ideas and designs for a major landmark or landmarks to attract significant funding and stimulate long-term economic benefit for the region. Deadline is 18 February.
