COMPETITION FOR CROSSRAIL
An Arup-led consortium, London Regional Metro, has presented the government with a rival bid to Crossrail.The scheme is for the design, construction, financing and maintenance of a new east-west rail link under central London.The consortium believes that it could fund the project without any aid from the public purse, by developing the land above the proposed stations.
