CLADDING Varla UK

PRODUCTS IN PRACTICE SPORTS AND LEISUR

BUILDING Highbury House, London

ARCHITECT HOK Sport Architectur

CLIENT Arsenal Football Club

PRODUCT Prepatinated copper cladding

CHARACTERISTICS The copper was selected to complement the natural materials specified for the adjacent Emirates Stadium, and the flexibility of the copper standing-seam sheets allowed the cladding to follow the sculpted form of the landmark structure. The sheets were laid on to insulated composite panels fixed to the steelwork

SPECIAL PROPERTIES Curved bullnoses and angled planes were possible as well as integrated louvres and Russian gutters. The copper was also used to form accessible planks to the exposed soffit over the staircase, providing access to services and light fittings.
