Planning permission has been granted for this ú3.8 million, 100 per cent affordable housing scheme, also by Horace Architects for Wandle Housing Association. The whole roofscape is given over to amenity space, resulting from the need to maximise the site's footprint. The terracing uses a variety of environmentally sustainable devices, such as solar panels for hot-water generation and PV cells for communal lighting. A wind turbine is also proposed to generate all of the communal electricity required for this project, with the anticipated excess being donated back to the national grid. Scheduled completion is January 2008.
