CASE STUDY 2 281-329 Davidson Road

The first green roof in Croydon is on this soon-to-be-completed ú1.9 million housing scheme for Wandle Housing Association, designed by Horace Architects. The 15-unit development of eight flats and seven houses is on a regenerated brownfield site. The green roof consists of a lightweight blanket of small sedum plants supplied by Index Building Products. Other sustainable measures include a solar hot-water system, low-flush WCs, aerated taps, permeable block-paving and insulation values 10 per cent greater than whose required by Building Regulations.
