CABE visits a central part of Lincoln review

As chairman of CABE's design review committee, I make a point of avoiding squabbles with designers who feel unhappy about what are always intended to be constructive criticisms.

However, I was surprised to read Design Buro's claim (AJ 3.7.03) that we had not visited the site of a project in Lincoln which we reviewed, since I made a point during the review of recalling my recent visit to Lincoln to lay the foundation stone of the university building opposite the site.

As has been reported, the head of CABE's design review programme has also been involved in advising on projects and on planning guidance for this important part of this great city for several years now.
