Cécile Brisac was born in Firminy, France. After studying at the Architectural Association (AA) she worked in France, the US and in the UK for Frank Hammountène, Ian Ritchie Architects, Mark Hampton and Kohn Pedersen Fox. She established Brisac Gonzalez with Edgar Gonzalez in 1999 after winning the international competition for the Museum of World Culture in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The practice’s current projects include a multi-purpose hall in Aurillac, France, and an invited competition for the National Academy of the Arts in Bergen, Norway. Recent invited projects include the competition for a cultural centre in Sainte-Maxime and the competition for the ‘Historial Charles de Gaulle’ at the Invalides in Paris.

Brisac has been a guest juror at various schools in the UK, including the AA and the University of East London, as well as in the US. She lectures regularly in the UK, Scandinavia and France
