'Beautiful colour and drawing'

COMMENDATION KIM JAE-YOON KOREAN NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF ARTS Time Architecture Tutor: Kim Jong-kyu This design, for the conversion of a power station into exhibition space and a thermal bath, is informed by the qualities of the existing site. The generator buildings have been transformed into exhibition space, and this change has sought to define the 'negative' spaces between buildings, so the gallery is perceived as both internal and external space. The project concentrates on experiential qualities - touch, scent, sound, and views - to transform the rawness and massive scale of the existing construction into a very human space.
