BDP's Belfast office has unveiled a £57 million masterplan for Queen's University in the city which features a new student centre alongside the university's main building designed by Charles Lanyon in the 1840s. The scheme also includes a plan to create new public green spaces within the campus. The development will centralise all student services on one site and will offer educational and entertainment facilities to neighbouring communities A detailed design brief will be drawn up this summer and building work will start in autumn 2001.
