Band aid

Word has reached Astragal that the popular beat combo U2 has launched a competition to build a massive complex in Dublin to house its new studio, or, as the competition states, 'a beacon for Dublin'. Comprising a restaurant, bar and nightclub, the two top floors will be the band's recording studio. There will also be a private roof terrace. It's an open competition, and it costs £100 to enter. If you win, you get £12,000, apparently. Presumably, architects could instead complete the work on a pro Bono basis
