Baden Powell Outdoor Centre by Wilkinson King Architects

Brownsea Island, Poole

The tent metaphor for the buildings is translated in their relationship to one another. The detailing of the building envelope with the bevelled gable edge detail and hidden gutters achieves an elegant profile. The site is precious and it is important that the buildings do not permanently scar the landscape, hence the buildings hover, only touching the ground lightly.
