Archigram exhibition


The biggest British exhibition of the work of Archigram, pioneer urban visionaries of the 1960s, opens at the Cornerhouse centre in Manchester tomorrow (Friday), until 15 February. Legendary drawings by Ron Herron, Peter Cook, David Greene, Dennis Crompton and Warren Chalk will be displayed at the cinema and visual arts centre, recently revamped to designs by David Chipperfield. A one-day symposium on the influence of Archigram takes place at the centre on Monday 9 February, with speakers including Crompton and Cook, Cedric Price, Arts Council architecture head Alicia Pivaro, and Ian Simpson of Simpson Associates. aj editor Paul Finch will chair the event.
