ARB chairman faces challenge

Heated competition has broken out to replace Humphrey Lloyd as the next chairman of the ARB.

Nick Tweddell, who has been closely associated with Ian Salisbury's campaign to pare back the board's activities, has thrown his hat into the ring.

Tweddell is being seconded by Salisbury himself and Paris-based board member Christopher Stead.

Lloyd could also face further opposition if, as rumours suggest, Alan Crane, a constructionindustry consultant, also decides to stand in the election.

The poll, which is restricted to other members of the board, will take place on 17 February.
