AJ100 Employer of the year - 2013

  • Comment

Winner: Hawkins\Brown - An award for the best employer in the AJ100, judged on staff satisfaction, workplace culture, benefits and staff turnover

Last year’s runner-up is this year’s winner - and unanimously so: Hawkins\Brown. What distinguished the studio-based practice from the others was a well-communicated commitment to developing its staff and the clearly stated strength of its culture and ethos. Hawkins\Brown has clear policies in place to support training and professional development, with fully paid study leave for students and a dedicated training budget. As judge Adrian Dobson noted: ‘There is a well-constructed approach to maternity, paternity and adoption leave and the gender balance is much better than the industry average.’

Andy von Bradsky admired the firm’s ‘people first attitude as an employer’ while Lindsay Urquhart was impressed by benefits that go ‘far and beyond the norm, from fully-paid gym membership to one-to-one financial advice’.
