Aedas moves to improve quality

Aedas is bidding to improve its design reputation with the appointment of Foster and Partners' director Richard Hyams as its new design director. Hyams will 'work across the practice' and will aim to 'ensure the quality and consistency of design'.

The practice has also appointed Seattle-based NBBJ's Andy Broomberg to fulfil an identical role in its Hong Kong office.

Aedas said Hyam's appointment reflects the practice's growing commitment to 'improve design quality'. During his time with Foster, Hyam worked on the Duxford American Airforce Museum, the Reichstag competition entry and London's City Hall.
