Friends of the Earth has attacked the decision to award the Prime Minister's Better Public Building title to the A650 Bingley Relief Road, citing the 'environmental damage' done by the road's construction. 'It's unbelievable a road that has destroyed one of Britain's top wildlife sites is now winning an award for design, ' said Friends of the Earth transport spokesman Tony Bosworth.
