A sad loss

The freak accident which killed Richard Feilden was a terrible start to the year, and a tragic one for his partners Peter Clegg and Keith Bradley.

All one can say is that the practice is in good hands, and judging by the way in which Lifschutz Davidson united after the death of Ian Davidson in 2003, the hopes that Feilden had for the future of the practice have every chance of happening. An enthusiast for all he did, Feilden had one uncompleted project that Astragal recalls discussing with him at some length last year: to launch a Bath architecture festival. Perhaps the idea will be pursued as a fitting tribute to his love of the city.
